The Bro Code, by joecool123
Description: "Rule number 4: 'If a girl falls into the
following criteria, she is off limits forever until the end of time: A.
Was a bro's ex-girlfriend. B. Your bro specifically told you he wanted
her. C. Is your bro's sister.' Eliza O'Conner happened to be all three.
Nick Maguire, the king player of East High, knew better than to fall in
love. So then what was he doing with the sister of his best-friend? And
how far would he go to keep it a secret?"
The use of the popular unwritten "bro code" immediately draws me in.
The first chapter is cute, though perhaps a bit cliche.
The grammar gets a 4/5. Spelling is mostly correct, but there are a number of run-on sentences and patches of awkward wording.
The narrator does a little too much "telling" about his feelings for Eliza. His descriptions of her and his crush on her are a little cliche, but the sporadic humor does keep it interesting. So far, the story could be going anywhere, but it doesn't sound like it'll be getting out of this little town and high school. If it stays this funny, we shouldn't have a problem, but if it gets too serious, we're left with nothing but high school drama, and that is something that Wattpad and the rest of the world has enough of already.
However, this book is quite popular on Wattpad right now, so I'll assume that the rest of the story is top-notch. When I get to the end, I will decide if it's worth recommending.
